Carleton Merrill Of Mexico, Maine Remembered After June 5, 2026 Motorcycle Crash On Route 26 In Paris
Carleton Merrill, 33, of Mexico, Maine, passed away after a motorcycle crash on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Paris, Maine.
Officials said Merrill operated a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle around 1:30 p.m. on Route 26, also known as Park Street.
Investigators reported that Merrill had passed one vehicle and then swerved while appearing to avoid another car ahead.
The motorcycle left the roadway and struck an embankment, and emergency crews took Merrill to MaineHealth Stephens Memorial Hospital in nearby Norway.
Medical staff provided urgent care, but Merrill was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Authorities said speed played a major role, and no other injuries were reported.
