Daniel Martinez, 2025 Sanger High School Graduate And Cross Country Team Member, Remembered After Late-Night Two-Vehicle Crash Near FM 455 On May 28
Daniel Martinez, a 2025 graduate of Sanger High School in Texas, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, at around 10:30 p.m. after a two-vehicle crash near FM 455 and Lake Crest Drive, just east of Sanger.
Sanger Fire/EMS, Pilot Point EMS, and local officials reached the heavily damaged scene within minutes and worked to assist everyone involved.
Officials pronounced Daniel Martinez dead at the scene, while two other Sanger High School students sustained serious injuries and received care at a hospital in Denton.
Daniel took part in the Sanger High School cross country team, where coaches and teammates remembered a steady, committed student who showed discipline and care in daily life.
Sanger Independent School District shared condolences with everyone affected and opened counseling and support services for students and staff.
Authorities continue to review the circumstances of the crash, while family, classmates, and teachers remember Daniel through shared moments and quiet acts of support.
