Jamell “Melly Mell” Williams has died shortly after turning sixteen, according to a memorial fundraiser organized by Mollie DelVecchio.
The fundraiser, created on May 26, 2026, says Jamell was a beloved child, grandchild, sibling, and soon-to-be older sibling again, with a new baby expected in about four weeks.
Loved ones described Jamell as sweet, kind, gentle, and devoted to family, with a caring spirit that brought comfort to those around him.
The tribute also remembered Jamell’s interest in scripture with grandparents and dedication as a school wrestler who worked hard and gave full effort.
As of the post, the memorial fund had raised $1,590 toward a $7K goal through 10 donations for funeral costs and essential living expenses.
