Jamonte Shaw Of Chicago Remembered After Fatal Accidental Home Incident Inside Pullman Home As Family Seeks Support
Jamonte Shaw, a 2-year-old child from Chicago, died after an accidental incident inside a Pullman home on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said the emergency happened around 12:40 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block of East 104th Street on Chicago’s South Side.
Emergency crews took Jamonte to Comer Children’s Hospital with a critical head injury, and doctors worked to save the child’s life.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office later confirmed Jamonte’s passing, according to the May 25, 2026 report.
Jamonte’s parent, Jada Shaw, launched a GoFundMe campaign for funeral and memorial expenses after describing the sudden loss as heartbreaking and financially difficult.
Police said a 31-year-old person identified as Jamonte’s father was taken into custody while Area Two detectives reviewed the circumstances.
Family members said memorial and funeral service details will be announced at a later time.
