Charlotte Teen Joseph Samuel, 16, Remembered After Fatal Tuesday Afternoon Incident On Tom Hunter Road
Joseph Samuel, 16, died after a Tuesday afternoon incident on May 19, 2026, in northeast Charlotte, N.C.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers responded a little after 2:30 p.m. to the 100 block of Tom Hunter Road and found Joseph seriously hurt.
Medic crews took Joseph to a hospital in critical condition, where medical staff later pronounced Joseph dead.
Authorities said no arrests had been made and no publicly named suspect had been announced as of the May 20, 2026 report.
Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to review the case, speak with witnesses, and ask anyone with information to come forward.
Joseph’s death leaves family, classmates, friends, and neighbors grieving the loss of a young student with many hopes still ahead.
