Keenan Cryts, 23, Remembered After Early Morning Tesla Crash Along State Route 183 In Bernville, Berks County
Keenan Cryts, a 23-year-old passenger, died after a single-vehicle Tesla crash early Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Bernville, Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police said the crash happened at approximately 1:56 a.m. along Bernville Road, State Route 183, just north of North 4th Street.
Investigators reported that a black Tesla sedan traveling south crossed into the northbound lane and struck a tree.
Emergency responders took Cryts to a nearby trauma center for care, and state police later confirmed Cryts died at Reading Hospital at approximately 11:19 p.m. on Sunday.
Authorities said the driver, a 23-year-old Pottsville resident, wore a seat belt, while Cryts was reportedly not restrained.
State Police, the Berks County Coroner’s Office, and the Berks County District Attorney’s Office continue to review the circumstances, and officials had not announced charges as of Sunday night.
