Michael Nanna, 67, of Inman Remembered After Early Morning Interstate 26 Tractor-Trailer Crash in Laurens County

Michael Nanna, 67, of Inman, died Wednesday around 3:40 a.m. near mile marker 48 on Interstate 26 in Laurens County after a single-vehicle tractor-trailer crash.

Authorities said Nanna drove the 18-wheeler and was the only person inside when emergency crews arrived at the heavily damaged vehicle.

The Laurens County Coroner’s Office responded, with Deputy Coroner Brandon Cromer, Chief Deputy Coroner Ashley Rushton, and Coroner Patti Canupp assisting at the scene.

Officials said no other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Laurens County Coroner’s Office continue reviewing what led the tractor-trailer to leave the roadway.

Family, friends, and community members in Inman now mourn an unexpected loss while awaiting further answers.
