Ronderius Hooks, 23, Dies After Late-Night Gilmer Avenue Incident In Tallassee On May 30, 2026
Ronderius Hooks, a 23-year-old from Tallassee, died after an emergency on the 200 block of Gilmer Avenue late Saturday night, May 30, 2026.
Tallassee police received the call at about 11:19 p.m. and sent officers to the area for a possible death investigation.
Emergency personnel took Hooks to Tallassee Community Hospital in critical condition, where medical staff worked urgently to save Hooks.
Despite those efforts, Hooks was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the report dated June 1, 2026.
News of the loss spread across the community, and reports said a crowd later gathered outside the hospital as family, friends, and residents processed the painful news.
The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office helped manage the hospital scene while investigators continued speaking with witnesses and collecting evidence.
The case remains open, and officials have not released further details about what led to the incident.
