Frank Jason Mute, 22, Of Meriden Remembered After Fatal Interstate 91 South Collision In Windsor, Connecticut
Frank Jason Mute, 22, a Meriden resident, died Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026, after a rear-end collision on Interstate 91 South near Exit 35B in Windsor, Connecticut.
Connecticut State Police said Mute drove a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 in the center lane when the vehicle struck the rear of a 2020 Volvo VN tractor-trailer at about 11:15 a.m.
Authorities said a 31-year-old New Jersey driver operated the tractor-trailer and remained at the scene as responders and investigators arrived.
Emergency responders reached the highway quickly, and Mute was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The collision slowed traffic on Interstate 91 South while officials assessed lanes, documented vehicle positions, and spoke with witnesses.
State Police continue to investigate the circumstances and asked anyone who saw the collision or recorded dashcam footage to contact investigators.
