Paula O'Donnell, Lovingly Known As Mimi, Remembered For Care, Faith, Family, And Service In North Carolina And Massachusetts
A May 7, 2026 family fundraiser shared that Paula O'Donnell, lovingly known as Mimi, had passed away the previous week while holding the hands of close family.
Paula lived with Stephanie Almeida for four years and spent more than 17 months in hospice after a stroke and two cancer diagnoses.
Family said Paula became a familiar, caring presence at Smoky Mountain Harm Reduction, where Paula welcomed people with a smile, a hug, snacks, or soup.
The fundraiser reported $1,566 raised toward a $6K goal through 21 donors for cremation and memorial costs.
Family plans Mass services at St. Francis of Assisi in Franklin, North Carolina, and St. Catherine's of Genoa in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Relatives said additional obituary and service details will be announced later.
