Rachelle Mertes Remembered As A Devoted Parent, Dedicated RN, And Beloved Wabasha Community Member After May 1, 2026 Passing
Rachelle Mertes passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, according to a fundraiser created Monday, May 4, 2026, by Stacy Mrozek for Braeden Jacobs.
Rachelle was a proud parent to Brad Jacobs, Braeden Jacobs, and Ashlyn Praxel, and a cherished child of Peggy Mertes and the late Ray Mertes.
Rachelle also leaves sibling Jared Mertes and Jared’s spouse, Kristen, along with partner Mike in Wabasha.
For many years, Rachelle served as an RN and brought care, humor, and warmth to residents and colleagues.
Family friends shared that Rachelle supported the children’s sports activities with steady encouragement and a joyful spirit.
The fundraiser seeks help with funeral bills and immediate living costs for the children, while a celebration of life remains planned for a later date.
