Braden Murry Remembered After Monday Morning U.S. Route 52 Head-On Crash In Wayne County

Braden Murry, 21, of Louisa, Kentucky, passed away Monday morning, May 11, 2026, after a head-on crash on U.S. Route 52 in the Fort Gay area of Wayne County.

State troopers received the call before 6 a.m. after Braden Murry’s car crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded quickly, but Braden Murry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor-trailer operator reported no injuries, and officials said no one else was hurt.

West Virginia State Police continue to review the roadway and vehicle details as they work to understand what led to the lane departure.

Family, friends, and the Louisa community now mourn a life lost at age 21 and await memorial and funeral service details, which family members will announce later.
