Felton Augusta Hopkins Jr., 98-Year-Old Marshall Resident, Remembered After Friday Morning Traffic Crash
Felton Augusta Hopkins Jr., a 98-year-old Marshall resident, passed away after a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning, June 13, 2026.
Marshall first responders received the call around 9:52 a.m. at Loop 390 and Scottsville Road, where a passenger car and a large truck collided.
Paramedics with the Marshall Fire Department removed Hopkins from the smaller vehicle, provided care at the scene, and transported Hopkins to a nearby hospital.
Medical staff continued lifesaving efforts, but Hopkins later passed away from the injuries sustained in the crash.
The Marshall Police Department continues to investigate the incident, which marked the city’s second deadly traffic crash in one week.
Police Chief Cliff Carruth urged drivers to slow down and stay focused as the community mourns another painful loss.
