Leina Roxanne Capanna Remembered After June 9, 2026 Passing Following Pineview Reservoir Accident
Leina Roxanne Capanna passed away on June 9, 2026, after sustaining an unsurvivable head injury on Saturday, June 6, at Pineview Reservoir.
Leina had just finished paddleboarding with Stephanie, Daphne, and Heidi when a falling tree struck Leina, prompting immediate aid from Heidi, nearby bystanders, and First Responders within minutes.
Medical teams took Leina by ambulance to Ogden Regional Hospital, then to Primary Children’s Hospital, where evaluations confirmed Leina would not recover from the injury.
Leina’s family chose organ donation, and matches were selected for Leina’s heart, liver, and both kidneys.
Leina played soccer with the local SWAT organization, competed in volleyball with Weber Elite and Squad 49, made the junior high team as a seventh grader, and earned acceptance into the chamber orchestra at North Ogden Junior High as a cello player.
A fundraiser organized by Darrin Rumsey in Ogden, Utah, had raised $6,720 of a $13,000 goal through 38 donations as of June 13, 2026.
Memorial service details will be announced later by family members.
