Rafael was remembered as a beloved parent, child, sibling, uncle, grandparent, and friend who worked hard and cared deeply for family.
The family shared that Rafael especially cared for and provided for a youngest son, age 10, every day.
Loved ones described Rafael as funny, outgoing, caring, and full of bright energy, with a gift for bringing laughter and comfort to those nearby.
The fundraiser had raised $1,050 of a $10,000 goal through 18 donations to help cover funeral and memorial expenses.
The family said a portion of the support will also help Rafael’s youngest son as relatives move through this difficult loss.
