Zachary Wolfe, 34, Remembered After Underground Rockfall At Bailey Mine Near Graysville On Tuesday Night

Zachary Wolfe, 34, of Rices Landing, died Tuesday night at the Crabapple Portal of the Bailey Mine in Richhill Township, near Graysville, Greene County.

Pennsylvania State Police said Wolfe was working underground when a rockfall occurred, and first responders later pronounced Wolfe deceased at the site.

Authorities confirmed an active investigation as officials review the underground conditions, the location of the incident, and the sequence of events that led to the workplace accident.

The loss has deeply affected family, friends, fellow miners, and the Greene County community, where mining remains closely tied to many households and livelihoods.
